Since the day our founder, pioneer brewmaster Henry Weinhard arrived in the Oregon Territory with a big copper kettle and an outsized passion for beer, we have stayed true to his high standards, brewing without regard for time or cost, using only premium ingredients. We offer Henry Weinhard's beers with the same pride Henry did over 150 years ago. Pale Ale: A smooth, aromatic, Irish-style pale ale from our award-winning brewmasters, crafted using premium Columbia Valley two-row barley, double-hopped with cascade hops for easy-drinking flavor. Presented with the same pride Henry had in the beer he served his friends. 1856 Henry Weinhard founds brewery. For five generations, the Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company has carried on the legacy of Henry Weinhard, the West's first brewer of premium beer. Using a unique 37-step brewing process and only the finest ingredients grown in the Pacific Northwest, we spare no effort to employ the traditional methods Henry first practiced over 150 years ago. The hops used in our beers come from the nation's foremost hop-growing regions: the Willamette and Yakima Valleys. Blitz-Weinhard also uses the finest two-row malting barley from the prime fields of the Columbia Plateau. To this day, we combine the finest Northwest ingredients, generations of brewing experience, and state-of-the art controls to brew our beers. And we spend a little more time doing it than most brewers. We know you'll taste the difference in every glass. Over 150 years ago Henry Weinhard first arrived in the Oregon Territory, the area which would become the sovereign states of Oregon, Washington and Idaho. There he established a great brewing tradition that continues today.
