Black Bean & Corn Burgers

These Black Bean & Corn Burgers offer a great meatless option for traditional burgers. They can be baked, pan-fried or grilled and customized with your favorite toppings!

  • Ingredients
    • 1 small yellow onion, quartered
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 2 (15 oz.) cans cooked black beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1½ tsp. ground cumin
    • ½ tsp. smoked paprika
    • 1 tsp. chili powder
    • ¾ tsp. coarse salt
    • Dash ground black pepper
    • 1 large egg
    • ¾ cup panko bread crumbs
    • ¾ cup fresh or frozen corn kernels
    • 6 whole wheat hamburger buns

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 1. Place onion, garlic, black beans, spices, egg and bread crumbs in a food processor. Puree until smooth, using a spatula to scrape the sides periodically. Transfer mixture to a mixing bowl and add corn 1. mix to combine. 1. Form mixture into 6 patties and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 35-45 minutes, flipping halfway, until bean patties are golden. (Note: If grilling or pan frying, refrigerate patties for 20 minutes beforehand.) 1. Place burgers on buns with desired toppings.

    Chef's Tips

    Top with lettuce, tomato, avocado and red onion.


    For gluten free: Use gluten free bread crumbs instead of panko and gluten free hamburger buns instead of whole wheat.
