Cocktails and mocktails are a must-have during the holiday season. Florida’s Natural® juices are the perfect base for a delicious variety of hot, cold and frozen beverages for kids and adults. Impress your friends and family with Wassail, Holiday Punch, Rosemary Lemonade or Brandy Slush.

Wassail (Hot Spiced Cider)

Recipe adapted from Yummy-Healthy-Easy

Ingredients:

8 cups apple cider

2 cups Florida’s Natural Orange Juice

½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

4 cinnamon sticks, plus extra for garnish (optional)

12 whole cloves

¼ tsp. ground ginger

¼ tsp. ground nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large soup pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish cups with a cinnamon stick if desired.

Yield: 8 servings

Make it a cocktail:

Substitute hard cider for apple cider:

Substitute 8 cups hard apple cider for the 8 cups of apple cider. Simmer all ingredients except for hard cider for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in 8 cups hard cider and heat until warm. Serve.

Add a splash of brandy:

Stir in 1 cup of brandy after simmering all ingredients for 45 minutes. Heat until warmed through. Serve.

Holiday Punch

Ingredients:

2 cups Florida’s Natural Orange Juice

2 cups cranberry juice

1 cup pineapple juice

2 cups sparkling water

1 cup fresh cranberries, optional

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a pitcher or punch bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. Serve cold over ice.

Yield: 8 servings

Make it a cocktail: Substitute sparkling white wine (like prosecco) for the sparkling water.

Brandy Slush

Brandy Slush – For the Adults

Ingredients:

2 cups water

1 cup sugar

4 cups Florida’s Natural Orange Juice

4 cups Florida’s Natural Lemonade

1 cup brewed black tea

2 cups brandy

Lemon-lime soda

Directions:

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, mix water and sugar. Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved and liquid is clear. Remove simple syrup from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add orange juice, lemonade and tea to simple syrup and stir to mix. Pour into two large freezer-safe containers with covers. Add 1 cup brandy to each container and stir to combine.
  3. Cover containers and place in freezer until mixture is completely frozen.
  4. Spoon frozen mixture into glasses, top with soda and stir to combine. Serve immediately.

Rosemary Lemonade

Rosemary Lemonade

Ingredients:

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup water

7 sprigs of rosemary, divided

3 ½ cups Florida’s Natural Lemonade

12 oz. sparkling water

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water along with 1 sprig of rosemary. Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved and liquid is clear. Remove simple syrup from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove rosemary sprig from simple syrup and pour syrup into a pitcher. Add lemonade and stir to mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. To serve, place 1 rosemary sprig in six glasses. Divide lemonade evenly between glasses and top with sparkling water. Serve.

Yield: 6 servings

Make it a cocktail: Substitute sparkling white wine (like prosecco) for the sparkling water.

Garnish like a pro: Give these glasses a fun sugared rim with this simple trick! Before you fill your glasses with lemonade, wet a Viva® paper towel with water. Place ½ cup sugar in a bowl. Use paper towel to wet the rim of the serving glasses and then dip the rim into the granulated sugar. Fill glasses with lemonade and sparkling as instructed above.
