Festival Foods announced today it will sponsor the Altoona fireworks display Saturday, June 30, during the City of Altoona’s Independence Day Celebration at Cinder City Park.
We’re excited to announce that Festival Foods will sponsor the Altoona fireworks display Saturday, June 30, during the City of Altoona’s Independence Day Celebration at Cinder City Park.
The fireworks, which begin at dusk or 9:45 p.m., will cap off a day full of activities to include the Freedom Five 5K Run/Walk along with live music and cribbage, softball, bean bag and kubb tournaments.
“We are so happy to have Festival Foods step in as the presenting sponsor of the Altoona Independence Day Celebration Fireworks after learning that our former sponsor had decided not to renew this year,” said Brendan Pratt, Altoona mayor. “We are excited to invite the community out to what will be an awesome display on June 30.”
In 2017, Festival Foods sponsored 20 fireworks shows throughout Wisconsin.
“We have a long history of supporting Fourth of July celebrations in Wisconsin and feel these fireworks shows help bring communities together,” said Mark Skogen, president and CEO of Festival Foods. “We are honored to sponsor the festivities in Altoona.”
Festival Foods sponsored its first fireworks show in 1991. At that time, the Skogen family owned one Festival Foods location in Onalaska. Today, the family owns and operates 31 stores across Wisconsin and sponsors fireworks in many of the communities it serves.
