Meet Our Mealtime Mentors

Our team of Registered Dietitians is here to support you in everything from making a delicious meal in 20 minutes, getting your kids to eat more fruits and vegetables or helping you transition to a new way of eating. Festival's dietitians want to meet you too, so follow them on social media, ask them a question or invite them to come speak at your workplace or school.

Lauren is a nationally accredited, state-certified Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RDN). As the Dietitian Manager and Green Bay Regional Dietitian, she leads the regional dietitian team in developing innovative nutrition programs across the company. Lauren partners with national organizations and movements to promote good nutrition through a wide variety of media, including television and social. She also collaborates with a variety of community groups, including health care systems, schools, government agencies, area businesses, non-profit organizations and universities, to help community members learn to shop smarter in the supermarket. She designs and conducts group and individual nutrition and culinary classes, events, store tours and presentations in the community. Lauren is very passionate about helping people find achievable ways to live longer, healthier, happier lives.

Lauren is committed to giving back to her profession. She serves on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a preceptor to dietetic students and interns annually. She is also on the advisory committee for the Wellness and Health Promotions program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

YOU Magazine named Lauren one of the "20 Women to Know" in its 2015 issue, which features influential women who are inspiring conversations, shaping their organizations and changing the way women do business in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Lauren received Produce for Better Health Foundation's Supermarket Dietitians of the Year award in 2015, which recognizes the top supermarket registered dietitians and/or health and wellness staff for their support of Fruits & Veggies—More Matters and of the collective goal of the increasing the sale and consumption of fruit and vegetables.

Brittany Nikolich is a nationally accredited, Wisconsin state-certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). As the Fox Valley Regional Dietitian, Brittany collaborates and maintains partnerships with area health care organizations, school districts, area businesses, community groups, non-profit organizations, government agencies and universities to promote nutrition, health and wellness. She is passionate about increasing the accessibility of accurate nutrition information, and providing resources and education to promote healthier lifestyles.

In addition to community nutrition education, Brittany has a strong background in the retail and natural foods industries. Brittany is the author of the Dietitian's Top Pick article that appears monthly in Festival's in-store "Natural & Organic Living" magazine. She also leads the implementation of the in-store Dietitian's Pick program across the company.

Brittany is actively involved with the Fox Valley Celiacs and serves as the nutrition advisor. She also collaborates with the Weight of the Fox Valley, a community health initiative designed to address active lifestyles and healthy habits among Fox Valley residents to reach and maintain a healthy weight. Brittany is committed to giving back to her profession by serving as a preceptor for dietetic interns and students each year.

Emily Schwartz is a nationally accredited, Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RDN) with a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition. As the Western Wisconsin Regional Dietitian, Emily draws from her previous experiences in community nutrition, healthcare and retail to provide relevant nutrition information, resources and education to our guests. She is committed to fostering and maintaining partnerships with businesses, healthcare organizations, school districts, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and universities in the La Crosse and Eau Claire communities to help promote wellness and healthy living in western Wisconsin. Hoping to inspire others, Emily offers quick, easy and affordable recipes that are "better-for-us" as a frequent contributor to the Festival blog and Mealtime Mentors newsletter.

Living with her own food intolerances, Emily is particularly interested in helping those with special dietary needs find fun, creative, yet nutritious food options. Each Wednesday, you can find Emily sharing her favorite allergen-friendly recipes, products, wellness tips and behind-the-scenes snippets of what it's like to be a Festival dietitian on Instagram for Wellness Wednesday.

Although passionate about promoting health and wellness through delicious and nutritious food, Emily is also committed to supporting the growth of the dietetics profession, as well as her La Crosse community. Emily serves on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also a member of the Viterbo Dietetics Advisory Board and enjoys serving as a preceptor and mentor to dietetic students and interns each year.
