Staying Connected


Each year during the fall I do what is known as “Back Room Tours” here at Festival Foods. It’s a time for me to visit each of our locations – each location twice actually – in a two week period to update the associates on how the company is doing and our plans for the upcoming year. Coordinating a schedule with 30 one-hour presentations across the state in two weeks is no easy feat, but I feel good about continuing this tradition.

Our company has experienced amazing growth because of the great associates we have on our team; but that growth also makes it more important for us to stay connected and maintain focus on our all-important Festival culture. Being in the back room of a store and addressing the entire team of associates is truly incredible. I use the time to share successes, talk about our five core values at Festival, relay real life examples of those values in action, and give them an overall idea of what’s in store for them as Festival associates in the year to come.

It’s my goal to have associates walk away from this meeting feeling a renewed sense of passion and purpose for the company and the role they play in our great organization  – I know I certainly do!
