key cards #festfoods Take a look at the seven pictures at the top of the page. Wheaties and Hamburger Helper coupons. A key card. An Amazon gift card. A grocery cart with a star. The coupons pictured allow customers to save money beyond the checkouts through two different and unique programs called Upromise and SavingStar. If you are already signed up for one of these e Coupon programs, way to go! If not, please keep reading to understand the benefits of each program and decide which savings program will best suit your needs.

 Upromise

What is it?

Upromise is an eCoupon program that allows consumers to save for education to make college more affordable. In our case you are saving money while shopping for groceries.  Whether you are single, a parent, a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or other, you can register for Upromise. The savings can be used towards your own education, a family member, or friend’s education.

How does it work?

  • Sign up at www.upromise.com with your Upromise card (loyalty card) which is available at the customer service desk at any of our 19 locations.
  • Start selecting eCoupons! You will notice coupons range from $.25 to $5 and include a huge variety of items. Once you click on the coupon, it automatically links to your Upromise card/account.
  • Have your cashier scan your Upromise card when you check out. This will trigger a “deposit” into your account for the savings listed on the eCoupon. For example, an eCoupon for $.50 will trigger a $.50 deposit.
    • It takes anywhere from 2-90 days for savings to show in your account.
    • Once you accumulate $25 in savings, you have multiple payout options.

What are my payout options?

You have multiple options for payouts. You can invest the money in a separate 529 account, use the money to pay off student loans, or request a check to cover education expenses. The money does not ever expire so you can also opt to keep the money in your Upromise account and watch your account grow in preparation for the education of future generations!
