A half million dollars in kindness donated to Salvation Army Red Kettles at Festival Foods in 2017
|

We were thrilled to partner again in 2017 with the Salvation Army, hosting its Red Kettle Campaign at our stores across Wisconsin. We're even more excited to report that our guests are just incredible, contributing nearly $540,000 to the Salvation Army during the 2017 holiday campaign.

Money raised during the campaign stays local in each community and is used by the Salvation Army to provide assistance throughout the year to neighbors who face poverty, sickness, unemployment and rising expenses.

In 2016, Red Kettles at Festival Foods brought in a total of $479,000, an increase of more than $35,000 from the year before. Our family- and employee-owned company also encourages our associates to promote the campaign and volunteer as bell ringers.

Again last year, we offered guests the option of donating a Salvation Army kettle or adding a $1 or $5 donation to their grocery totals during checkout. A little more than $66,330 came from the donation tabs at our cash registers and the $473,200 came from donations to the kettles in our cart lobbies.

Regardless of where they made their donation, 100 percent of our guests' donations are passed on to the Salvation Army.

"Festival Foods is proud to promote the Red Kettle Campaign in our stores again this year," said Festival Foods President and CEO Mark Skogen. "We know that many of our guests want to support the effort but don't always have cash on them, so we hope that offering to add on to their grocery totals is a convenient option that will increase the funds raised for those in need in our local communities."
