Madison Market Ground Breaking
Madison Market Ground Breaking #festfoods Festival Foods was part of the official groundbreaking event for The Galaxie complex in Madison on September 16 where more than 100 people were in attendance to hear from the mayor, alders, DNR representative, and developer on the project. I had the opportunity to share with the crowd a bit about our company’s history and what it means for us to enter the Madison market.   This project is one that has been in the works for a couple of years and there is a sense of accomplishment in just getting all of the i’s dotted and t’s crossed so construction can begin. This is the first time one of our stores has been drawn up as part of an urban condominium development and we couldn’t be more excited. Not only will the exterior of the store look different than a traditional Festival Foods store, the interior has also been redesigned to accommodate the more urban shopping environment as well. Additionally, offering guest parking in the attached parking ramp as opposed to a large open lot is a new twist for us. Something that isn’t different for us is the plan to provide the same great offerings when it comes to fresh, quality products in a clean store full of friendly associates. Madison Market Ground Breaking We have partnered with Whole Trees, a Madison-based company, to incorporate a unique green feature in this location. Local ash trees that are slated to be cut down due to disease will be sized to replace steel columns and bar joists in our building process. Not only will it look great in our space, it makes great use of local resources.   There are so many reasons to be excited about this Madison store and we are looking forward to opening in the summer of 2015!
