The holiday season is upon us! And if you happen to be lactose intolerant, remember you don’t have to go without the celebratory egg nog this season. In fact, at Festival we carry a range of lactose free drinks so you can celebrate along with the rest of the family. Try Silk Nog, as well as delicious Silk Pumpkin Spice, and Silk Chocolate Mint in quart sizes. Soy milk can also act as a great regular milk replacement in other holiday drinks and recipes. Simply substitute a cup of milk for a cup of soy milk. Try it in your mashed potatoes next time! If heating your soy milk, be sure to stir constantly and use moderate heat. Silk is very low in saturated fat so it requires using a little less liquid and a touch of thickening agent, such as cornstarch, in recipes such as puddings or custards. Give a Raspberry Mint Chocolate Smoothie a try! Serves 4 Preparation time: 10 minutes Ingredients: · 4 fresh mint leaves · 2 Tbsp. chocolate chips · 2 cups frozen raspberries · 4 Tbsp. maple syrup · 2 Tbsp. almonds · 2 cups Silk, any flavor Preparation: In a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients and serve.
