Kids Come First at Festival Foods!

School’s out for the summer! Most family schedules fill up quickly during the summer with vacations, summer camps, summer sports leagues, and various local events. No matter how busy you and your family are this summer, we know you will still need to buy groceries! While you spend an hour or two of your week at Festival Foods, don’t forget to take advantage of a few of our services that we believe make Festival Foods a fun place for the whole family!

One of the main reasons kids love to visit Festival is our Tot Spot, a child friendly area in most of our locations. This area is open to children between the ages of 18 months and seven years old. We staff the Tot Spot with Festival Foods employees who enjoy spending time with our youngest guests, and the room is stocked full of puzzles, games, books, craft supplies, blocks, and more! We also have G-rated movies, and some stores have incorporated CD’s to encourage exercise and learning through stories/music (“Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” and “Going on a Bear Hunt” just to name a couple!).

We require first time visitors to register before entering the Tot Spot and the registration form can now be completed prior to your shopping trip by visiting and selecting your home store.

Child friendly shopping carts

For those of you who have children who would rather shop with you than play in the Tot Spot, we do have two different styles of carts to making shopping fun for your family! Every location has 2-4 larger shopping carts available that have room for all your groceries, along with mini seats in a car attached to the front of the cart. Your helpers can help you “Drive” your cart through the store!

We also have much smaller carts for younger children to push through the store. These carts have a cart frame and a green basket and based on the energy and excitement we have seen at our stores, these carts are an absolute blast for kids to use when they help you shop!

Store Tours

We offer store tours year-round and groups range from small troops of Boy and Girl Scouts to larger groups from day camps and even families looking to see some behind-the-scenes aspects in a grocery store. We can accommodate almost any number of kids; we just ask that you bring chaperones with your group to help us as we navigate through the store! Typically, if your group is larger than 20, we try to split into two groups so the tour can still be interactive. We can do general tours that briefly showcase all areas of the store but we can also cater to specific group requests if you would like us to focus on a certain area.
