School has started. Football season is here. Many guests have already purchased pumpkins and gourds, and we get almost daily requests for fresh apple cider (For those of you anxiously waiting---it should be available early October!). Fall is certainly in the air! With the transition from summer to fall comes cooler weather, gorgeous fall colors outside, and, more often than not, a jam-packed back-to-school-schedule that leaves many families wondering “where does the time go?!” If you go to certain retailers, you are bound to see some Christmas decorations available already! Many of you are probably thinking, “It’s only September 26th! It’s too early for Christmas!” We would agree! However, knowing it is already the end of September, we also know the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is near. Festival Foods is not a company that will be selling Christmas decorations before Halloween and Thanksgiving, but we do like to plan ahead. In the spirit of making your holiday shopping as convenient and stress-free as possible, we would like to remind you of something we sell year-round that makes a great gift for any occasion: gift cards! We sell a huge variety of gift cards, including both gift cards for Festival Foods and gift cards for other businesses, often referred to as “Blackhawk gift cards”. Festival Foods cards are available at every checkout (excluding self-checks) and also at our gift card kiosk. These cards can be activated for any amount. We also offer an online ordering option, primarily for schools or businesses looking to purchase large quantities of gift cards. The online option has been a huge success for parishes that offer Scrip programs, as well as businesses purchasing gift cards for their employees as a holiday gift. The Blackhawk gift cards are available in-store at the gift card kiosk. Some of the top sellers include iTunes, Starbucks, and Subway. You will also fine gift cards for Applebee’s Kohl’s, Barnes ‘n Noble, Little Casesar’s, and Chilis, just to name a handful. Most gift cards are available for $15, $25, or $50. These can be activated at any register (you do not need to wait in line a 2nd time at the customer service desk!) and make great birthday presents and stocking stuffers. They are also perfect for family and friends who live out of town---gift cards can easily be sent with a card, or tucked inside a suitcase on the flight home! Next time you are grocery shopping, we hope you will also stock up on some gift cards and enjoy the convenience of shopping for gifts and groceries without making multiple stops!
