It never ceases to amaze me how big of a deal the Super Bowl has become. I can reflect back on each one and remember where I was and who I watched it with. (My wife finds that odd considering I sometimes struggle to remember what she told me the day before.) I remember all of the laughs, the disappointment of picking the wrong team, the spilled bowl of chili on a friend’s white carpet, the Packers’ win in ‘96, the Packers’ loss in ‘97.
For many sports fans, the Super Bowl is the best excuse of the year to host a party. According to the folks at Hallmark Cards, Inc., Super Bowl parties are one of the top at-home party events of the year. Super Bowl parties have become much more than a gathering of football lovers. In fact, many people attending these parties don’t love football as much as they love the excuse to get together with friends/family after a very boring month of January. It is my belief that since the Super Bowl only comes around once per year that everyone should be allowed to eat their favorite foods–guilt free! I recommend a buffet style set up so you can eat all day long and still have time to yell at the TV!
Here are some great options to try at your party:
- Festival’s Famous Oktoberfest Brats
- Game-Day Wings
- Chips with Dip and Salsa
- Your Favorite Cold Beverage
- Sloppy Joes
