Fireside Spiced Cider | Eat Well at Festival Foods Take the chill away this winter with a warm mug of Fireside Spiced Cider. Filled with seasonal spices and tangy citrus, this twist on traditional cider not only tastes delicious, but also makes your house smell absolutely wonderful! Planning to spend the day playing outside in the snow? This recipe can easily be made beforehand. Just transfer to a slow cooker and place on your lowest setting. Fireside Spiced Cider

                                                                                                       

Ingredients:

6 cups apple cider

2 orange slices

1 lemon slice

1 slice fresh ginger, smashed

2 cinnamon sticks

10 whole cloves

1 star anise, optional  

Directions

  1. Add cider, oranges, lemon, ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves and star anise to a large saucepan and stir to mix.
  2. Bring cider to a boil over high heat. Stirring occasionally, cook until liquid has reduced to 4 cups; about 25 minutes. Remove fruit and spices with a slotted spoon. Serve warm.
