Festival Foods has announced they will be expanding their business to Mount Pleasant, WI, in late 2014.
Festival Foods announced that it intends to remodel a vacant building located at 5740 Washington Ave. This vacant building was previously home to a Sentry Foods grocery store that has since gone out of business. Festival Foods plans to renovate the building from the ground up starting in early August with hopes of opening its doors in December of 2014. As part of the store renovations, Festival Foods plans to add an additional 9,000 square feet onto the current structure, making the store 70,712 square feet in total. The store will operate 24 hours a day and employ an estimated 250 associates.
According to Mark Skogen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Festival Foods, the company is eagerly anticipating the opening of its new store. “Mount Pleasant represents a key opportunity to expand our business and to better serve our growing customer base throughout Southeast Wisconsin. We are honored to become a member of this wonderful Wisconsin community, and we are excited about the economic impact that this new store will bring both through construction and as an ongoing business operation for many years to come.”
Skogen added that the new store will exemplify Festival Foods’ continuing commitment to selection, pricing and service excellence. “In today’s marketplace, consumers have high expectations for the value they receive for their money as well as how they are treated. We are excited about the opportunity to offer Racine area customers value-driven pricing, a wide selection of products that includes healthy choices, and a great shopping experience.”
More details about this project will be announced as they become available.
