We are really excited about the latest addition to our sweet treats- the Croissant Doughnut. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like- a crispy sugary outside like a doughnut and the flaky tender layers of a croissant on the inside. The “Cronut” craze swept New York City earlier this year with customers lining up to pay $5 each for this very popular pastry. While we can’t call our creation a Cronut because the name is trademarked, we can save you a trip to New York. Besides, our version is just $1 each! So- how do we make it? I can’t give away the recipe but I can tell you that it is special pastry dough that is fried like a doughnut then rolled in coarse sugar. Once it cools we slice it in half horizontally and fill the bottom with raspberry filling that is then topped by a thick ring of Bavarian cream. The lid is carefully placed on top and the Croissant Doughnut is drizzled with raspberry glaze. We also have version that is Bavarian cream filled and topped with chocolate!
